FAQ

What can you do in the game?
The base game ships with 10 promotions you can run, each with its own level of popularity and wealth. From there you manage your roster as you see fit — recruiting, training, and sometimes cutting fighters. You are also the matchmaker: you choose the matchups and plan the events. Relationships matter, both between you and your fighters and between the fighters themselves; they are tracked through org loyalty, morale and rivalries, and they feed back into decisions and form.
When is the alpha? Can I play it? Is it free? How do I take part?
It is open now, it runs for two weeks, and it is completely free. Sign in from the button at the top of this page — an email address and a password, Discord, or Google — and you are playing a minute later.
Will I be able to play with the UFC, or other real fighters and promotions?
MMA Promoter will not include any real fighters or brands. Custom databases are allowed, though — like the one used in the promotional video.
How much will the game cost?
At release, the full game and all future updates will be $10.
What platforms will the game be on?
PC. The alpha is played in your browser, but the full release will run as a standalone app. A mobile version is not planned.
Is this game entirely vibecoded?
No. The core systems — the fight engine and the fighter regen system — predate AI coding tools and represent hundreds of hours of work. As a solo dev I do use AI to help across the project, but the core engine is hand-built and hand-calibrated.
Is the game single player only?
Yes. There are no plans for multiplayer.
Is MMA Promoter like Football Manager?
That is the fastest way to describe it: MMA Promoter is a football-manager-style simulation for MMA. You inherit a promotion instead of a club, and matchmaking takes the place of tactics — the depth sits in the fighter database, the contracts, and a fight engine calibrated by hand. If Football Manager is where you come from, you will recognise the rhythm. MMA Promoter is an independent game with no affiliation to Sports Interactive, SEGA or the Football Manager series.
Is there a UFC manager game? Is this one?
MMA Promoter is an MMA manager simulator, not a licensed UFC game. You run a fictional promotion in a fully simulated MMA world, against rival organisations that scout, sign and book the way you do — no real fighters or brands are included. If you want a UFC-flavoured world, custom databases are allowed, like the one in the promotional video. UFC is a trademark of Zuffa, LLC; MMA Promoter has no affiliation with it.
